Legal Assistant - Estate Planning

What You'll Do

  • Assist attorneys to draft and prepare estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
  • Organize and maintain client files, with strong attention to detail.
  • Schedule and coordinate client appointments, attorney meetings and internal deadlines.
  • Communicate with clients, legal professionals, and clients’ other professional advisors via phone, email and mail.
  • Track deadlines and follow up on outstanding tasks and documents.
  • Provide administrative support such as scanning, copying, mailing, and data entry.
  • Occasionally travel to facilitate attorney/client meetings.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Required Minimum Job Qualifications

 
Education: Associate degree
Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), strong organization and attention to detail

 

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience: 3-5 years in Legal Assistant role performing estate planning work; experience with WealthCounsel
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), strong organization and attention to detail.

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Must be able to accomplish all duties with little to no assistance.

 

Pay

$40,000-$50,000 per year

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with typical working hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 am through 5:00 pm.

Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with business needs.
